Artist Statement:

 I am a Memphis born artist currently living in Toronto.  I graduated from the Memphis College of Arts in 1973 with a BFA degree in painting and sculpture.  

My body of work is narrative, strongly influenced by the cultural richness of my southern heritage.  Through the years my subject matter and style have evolved and expanded.  The common thread in all my work is my attempt to uncover and reveal the beauty in the uncommon. 

I work primarily in three formats:  

• Black & white “scratchboard” illustrations 
• Acrylic mixed media paintings  
• Bronze & plaster relief sculptures

 I enjoy pushing each of these formats beyond their  traditionally prescribed boundaries.
